Use an external holder on the full-size AMS
TPU and filled materials. Same spool, but Bambu advises against flexible material in the full-size AMS, so load these on the external holder. On an A1 or A1 mini the AMS lite will take 72D, which its documentation lists as within the "55D or higher" window.

Bambu Lab FAQ
Do FilamentBay spools fit the AMS without an adapter?
Yes. The 1 kg spool is 65 mm wide and 200 mm in diameter, inside Bambu Lab's 50–68 mm and 197–202 mm window, and it is plastic.
What about the AMS lite?
AMS lite lists 40–68 mm width and a 53–58 mm inner diameter. Our 54 mm hub fits.
Which materials should stay out of the AMS?
All five TPU grades, on the full-size AMS. Bambu Lab's guidance there is to avoid flexible material in general: "Avoid using AMS to print flexible materials, including TPU, TPE, or absorbent PVA." The AMS lite is the exception — its documentation names a hardness it will take, "77D, 55D, or higher", which covers our 72D but not 85A through 98A.
So can I ever run TPU through a Bambu feeder?
Only 72D, and only on an AMS lite, which means an A1 or A1 mini. Everywhere else the external spool holder is the answer, and it is what we recommend for all five grades on the full-size AMS.
What about carbon-fiber and ESD grades?
Use the external holder for wood, carbon-fiber and ESD grades. Third-party filled materials may wear or obstruct the feed path; spool dimensions alone do not establish feeding compatibility.
Do you have Bambu Studio profiles?
The settings hub lists available starting presets, worksheets and withdrawn material mappings. Check the target printer and base preset; these files are not validated on every Bambu machine.
