For Bambu Lab owners

A filament alternative that shows its numbers

You already own the printer. The question is whether the filament has to come from the same company. Here is the price per kilogram against Bambu Lab's own store, the spool measured against the window they publish, and the source limitations behind each figure we quote.

Price per kilogram, side by side

Compared against the cheaper of Bambu Lab's two forms for each material, so refills are matched against refill pricing rather than against the more expensive spool.

All rows are 1 kg net, USD, single unit at list price. Bambu Lab figures were read from the product pages linked above on 2026-09-06; their pages also show a lower headline price for orders of ten or more, which is not what a single spool costs. Our own volume price is the 4+ column, applied automatically to any mix.

TPU 95A HF: No refill version is sold.

Does it fit the AMS?

This is the question that actually decides the purchase, and it is a measurement rather than an opinion. Bambu publishes a spool window; ours is inside it.

Limits quoted from wiki.bambulab.com, read 2026-09-06. Flexible TPU is the exception on both feeders: see the TPU guide for what goes where. Per-machine detail is on the printer pages: A1, A1 mini, P1S, P2S, H2D.

Where we are the better answer

  • Price per kilogramThe table shows a dated price sample, not proof of lower landed cost. Check spool/refill, delivery, quantity discounts and the current supplier listing.
  • Traceable source and limitation notesSupplier brochure values are linked through the evidence register. Batch reports, specimen preparation and method conditions are not published; compare like-for-like evidence before qualifying a material.
  • A full TPU hardness ladderThe catalog includes 85A, 90A, 95A, 98A and 72D. Compare nominal hardness, geometry and feeder restrictions; no shared drying endpoint or speed validation is implied.
  • Volume pricing that starts at four spoolsAny 4 spools take 12% off, mixed however you like, with per-kg pricing from 50 spools a month.

Where they are

A comparison with nothing in the other column is not a comparison.

  • RFID and automatic material recognitionBambu spools carry an RFID tag, so the printer knows the material and colour the moment the spool goes in. Ours do not. Check and select the correct material and starting settings for your printer.
  • One-click presets with no importBambu provides its own integrated material presets. FilamentBay files have stated targets and limits: some are starting presets, some are manual worksheets, and unconfirmed mappings are withdrawn. They do not establish equivalent print behavior.
  • Buying everything in one basketIf you are ordering a printer, a spare hotend and filament together, one order from one shop is simpler. We sell filament only.

What people ask before switching

Will third-party filament void my Bambu Lab warranty?
Using another brand of filament is not, by itself, a warranty question. Damage caused by a material the printer is not designed to feed is a different matter, which is why every material we sell tells you whether it belongs in the AMS or on the external holder.
Do your spools work in the AMS?
Every rigid material, yes. Our 1 kg spool is 65 mm wide and 200 mm across with a 54 mm hub, in plastic, inside the window Bambu publishes. Flexible TPU goes on the external holder, except 72D on an A1 or A1 mini.
What do I lose without RFID?
Without the vendor RFID workflow, select the actual material manually. Our files have explicit target and availability limits; calibrate rather than assuming identical behavior or print quality.
Are the prices on this page current?
They were read off Bambu Lab's own US store product pages on 2026-09-06 and each row links to the page it came from. Prices move, so check the link if you are reading this much later.
Is the quality actually comparable?
Compare source and conditions as well as numbers. Our evidence register identifies supplier brochure values and missing test methods. Qualify a sample before treating those figures as printed-part performance.
Which of your materials matches Bambu PLA Basic?
Our PLA. Same job, same printing window of 200–240 °C, same AMS-ready spool. PLA+ is the step up when parts crack.
