Filament for the Bambu Lab P1S

The P1S is enclosed, which is what makes ABS and ABA practical. It runs the full-size AMS, so the spool window is the wider one and the flexible-material rule is the stricter one.

Worth knowing before you order

  • The enclosure is the reason to own this machine over an A1. Let the chamber warm through before starting a large ABS or ABA part.
  • The bed tops out at 100 °C, which is the bottom of the range PC and PCTG want. They print, but expect to use a brim and keep parts modest.
  • For the full-size AMS, Bambu advises against flexible material generally. All five of our TPU grades go on the external holder here, 72D included.

Profiles, not guesswork

The settings hub identifies generated starting values, target machines and unsupported material mappings. A preset is not validation on this printer; review the target and calibrate temperature, flow and retraction before a production part.

Bambu Lab P1S filament questions

Do FilamentBay spools fit the Bambu Lab P1S?
Yes. The P1S uses the AMS, which Bambu Lab publishes as taking spools 50–68 mm wide at 197–202 mm outer diameter. Our 1 kg spool measures 65 × 200 mm with a 54 mm hub, in injection-moulded plastic rather than cardboard.
Can I print flexible TPU on the P1S?
From the external spool holder, yes. For the full-size AMS Bambu Lab advises against flexible material in general, so all five of our TPU grades belong on the external holder on this machine, 72D included.
What is the hottest bed the P1S reaches?
100 °C, with a 300 °C nozzle, per Bambu Lab's published specification. Every material we make sits inside that window.
Does the P1S enclosure change what I can print?
Yes, and it is the main reason to own an enclosed machine. ABS and ABA need the chamber heat or large parts crack and lift as they cool. PC and PCTG benefit from it on wide flat parts.
Do you have Bambu Studio profiles?
See the settings hub for each material and format. Some files are starting presets with a different target machine, some are manual worksheets, and unconfirmed polymer mappings are withdrawn. No universal import or printer validation is claimed.
Do 3 kg and 5 kg spools work on the P1S?
Not in the AMS: they are wider and larger than the published window. Print them from an external holder, or re-spool onto an empty 1 kg spool.
